Kershaw's colorful Scallions are designed to meet the needs of the knife user who wants SpeedSafe technology in a smaller carrying knife.  All Ken Onion Scallions feature SpeedSafe, plus tip safety lock.  The attractive coloration is created in the anodizing process, which hardens the aluminum and produces a porous, oxide coating that can absorb dyes.  Colored surfaces that are produced in this process are durable and scratch resistant.
